Synopsis:Xander Stewart’s Hollywood dream is morphing into a nightmare; his series is on the cusp of cancellation, and his entertainer girlfriend, Danielle, is the poster child for vapid self-obsession.
When a Hollywood “outsider” witnesses his serious on-set injury, she hatches a rescue plan. Maggie enlists the help of her best friends, and they gather their resources and talents for an "intervention" only they can deliver.
They abduct Xander from a holistic health clinic to a secluded safe house.
The television breaks the news of his kidnapping as his captors admit their plan. “We have Xander Stuart. We won't release him until our demands are met. Email: I Treated Xander Badly @gmail.com.”
Xander is incredulous at their chutzpah and in awe of their follow-through. Though he wants to escape, his pain and their ingenuity prevent him. He pleads in vain that his television series and the lead in a blockbuster movie are dependent upon him being on set.
LAPD Detectives, skeptical of the public ransom demand, focus on Xander’s girlfriend Danielle, with more than professional zeal.
The women use their individual talents to heal Xander's body and challenge his notions about self-esteem, nourishment and living. Despite their efforts to win cooperation, Xander plots unsuccessful, always humorous, escape attempts.
Danielle’s public denouncement of their relationship detonates his temper and ignites new determination to escape. Faced with the failure of that attempt, Candy convinces Xander to embrace the changes he’s going through.
Xander is still sulking over Danielle’s public betrayal when the mood is lightened by the arrival of Margo, Maggie’s saucy co-ed daughter. The two young people are immediately drawn to each other.
Xander’s health recovers, his show’s ratings soar, and the fresh allure of romancing Margo burns away the days. The studio is desperate to get him back into production while public curiosity is high. Police Detectives continue their misguided investigation of Danielle, finding her looks more satisfying than clues. His unbalanced Executive Producer sends a Mafia enforcer to find Xander and “encourage” his return. The wheels fall off the Hollywood machine as it tips in Xander’s favor.
To the astonishment of her fellow kidnappers as well as Xander, Brynn is forced to admit that she is one of the Producers behind his pending blockbuster movie role. As the group digests Brynn’s revelation, Candy discovers they’ve received the contract they demanded, and the ordeal is over.
When he steps forward, Xander insists to the authorities that Danielle was not involved. He’s determined to have her exonerated, while at the same time protecting the women from prosecution. The police raise suspicions about the women, but Xander’s denials and their powerful attorney’s protection negates an arrest.
A year passes and Xander treads the red carpet in the much anticipated opening of his blockbuster movie. Close to his side is Margo, and joining them are his four “Fairy Godmothers,” the ladies who have become the backbone of Accidental Success Productions.
As the credits roll, another unknown actor scans The Hollywood Reporter and remarks on the feature interview headline: “Every actor needs a team of Fairy Godmothers." The camera pans down to a personal management ad: “Accidental Success Productions. Don’t be held hostage by Hollywood.”
